A week or so ago I finished four paintings and took the two larger ones to Synchronicity Gallery (in Glen Arbor, MI).
Here they are with their description and perhaps an explanation:
FLOW - forms liquid on water 40 x 24 oil, acrylic, pastel, and marble dust on canvas
Inspired by streams, lightning, deep blue water . . . .
$700
"Liquid Dust" 24 x 40 oil, acrylic, marble dust on canvas
Inspired by the tiny little streams that flow out of the bluffs by Lake Michigan as they travel across the sand then disappear underneath before reaching the shoreline.
$700
"Disintegration of Time" 16" x 10" colored pencil, pastel, acrylic on canvas
An abstracted image of the use of huge amounts of fossil fuels being used for controlled explosions in the name of research. Does make for an interesting painting, though.
$200
"Light Comes from Every Direction" 12" x 8" colored pencil, pastel, acrylic on canvas
For the dark and light pattern I was thinking of the Blue Eye nebula that I've painted and drawn several times. Then I saw a sunrise over water photo that looked interesting on it's side and that lent ideas for the colors. $160
The two smaller paintings are being kept for the abstract show I was invited to be in at the Oliver Art Center (Frankfort, MI) in March and April 2020. The two larger paintings, as mentioned above, are at Synchronicity Gallery .
thank you so much for checking out the blog
